MaNo Charitable Trust, Padur, OMR organized awareness camp on the eve of Dr.APJ.Abdul Kalam’s memorial anniversary, about Rain water harvesting for people living in and around Padur . The event initiated the door step awareness drive through the trust coordinators and volunteers on 28-July-2019 10 am on Padur Main road, OMR . coordinators and volunteers, a team of youth formed a team and started the village wide awareness campaign and taking the message of save water to each and every individual in and around Padur village. Team is reaching out to every street, house, Shop and public place in the village and make sure everyone understands the value of saving rain water. Beloved chief guest Dr.T.Balasubramanian, Vice chancellor , Chettinad Academy of Research and Education and advisory board member of MaNo Charitable trust, and Mr.D.Rajangam, Inspector (L&O), E8 Police station, Kelambakkam, garland the portrait of then president Dr. APJ.Abdul kalam and led the oath taking of the gathering. MaNo charitable trust, Padur President KAS Sudhakar initiated the free food distribution to all the participants . Ashokrajan, Managing trustee, Thara Sudhakar, Trustee, around 300 residents of Padur village participated in the event. KAS Sudhakar told , we envision to make Padur 100% rain water harvesting village in India and be a first of its kind in India to achieve this goal, We believe it is everyone’s responsibility to take this message and help us in achieving this goal. One of the participant told that we are privileged to be a resident of Padur village, that we are living in a place where there is a vision of growth and action taking place. We are confident that Padur,OMR will be a model village and best place for our children to live
